Despite cancellation of the 2020 Kansas Agri Business Expo, Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) is still raising money for its scholarship fund with a two-week online auction beginning today and ending at noon on Friday, December 4. Governor Laura Kelly has announced several new plans to combat the spike in COVID-19 cases, among them a statewide face-covering protocol. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is proposing to create a pilot program to allow truck drivers aged 18-20 to drive across state lines. Anyone wishing to earn 7B/4 recertification credits through Kansas Grain and Feed Association's online course on Nov. 4, must register for the class by NOON today, Nov. 3, 2020. Kansas Grain and Feed Association has received updated guidance from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) regarding the COVID-19 truck weight exemption set forth in Governor Laura Kelly’s Executive Order 20-65. Paul W. Dalke, age 69, of Grove, OK passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) had recently proposed a new regulation (KAR 36-43-1) requiring mandatory minimum crew sizes for rail transport. The Kansas Corporation Commission has received a new electric rate study from the consultant hired the by Kansas Legislature. The purpose of the study was to understand why Kansas electricity rates are some of the highest in the nation.
